Mr. William J. McGinley incorporates Methode Electronics, Inc.

Methode manufactures sockets for miniature vacuum tube, first used in military walkie-talkies.

1951

Methode sockets were ruggedized and fitted with RFI-protective shielding for Korean War military radios.

First mass producer of PC Boards with tighter traces for radio and TV applications.

First company acquisition: Thermoceram, a manufacturer of headers for semiconductors.

Acquired Carter Precision Electric, a supplier of switches to the automotive industry.

Began producing computer backplanes and entered into the custom wire-wrap business.

Acquired Graphic Research and Reliant Precision to enhance Methode’s PCB capabilities.
